My Rakhi Made Special by Dottedi

So I belong to the category of people who are single child of their parents, no I have no regrets as such, I love being alone, but certain occasions like Rakhi and all make you feel a little low. You want to have a brother to gift you some amazing stuff and shower his love. But its ok, I rather believe in self love, so whether its Valentines Day or Rakhi, I gift myself and make myself feel special indeed.

This year around, as I was looking at gifting options, I landed up on this awesome site called Dottedi and I was hooked. They have such an amazing collection of gifting options that it left me confused for a long time. They have gifts as per gender, relationships and also for special occasions. After a long stare and surfing through the pages, I settled for two things. I ordered myself a Mystery Box, which has a combination of gifts and goodies. There are consumables and also some beautiful gifts. In my mystery box I got Caramel Popcorns, a Beautiful Mason Jar, a Set of Shot Glasses, a Scented Candle, and oh how much I am in love with this box. The next thing that I picked was a Spa Bucket. Who doesn’t love a spa, and when given a chance to get yourself a foot spa, I am always a sucker for it. In fact I love collecting spa products and sometimes just dip my feet in a bucket and relax myself. This beautiful bucket consisted of foot scrub, foot softener, a foot soak and a body scrub. The bucket itself looked so beautiful and this indulgence felt totally worth it.

Got hold of this assorted pack of green teas, 25 sachets in all, 5 sachets of 5 flavours each. Green Tea, Lemon Green Tea, Tulsi Green Tea, Ginger Green Tea and Mint Green Tea were included in the pack, and trust me each of them was refreshing and flavoursome. No flavoured tea had overpowering flavours or aromas, but just the right balance of taste and flavour. I loved the Lemon Green Tea and Tulsi Tea the most. I have never been a tea drinker, but since last 2-3 years I have taken a conscious shift towards green teas and flavoured teas. I still can’t have the typical ghar ki chai or the masala tea, but green tea, lemon tea, black tea and other flavours are something that I sip on a daily basis. I recently discovered Garnet Glow Gourmet Teas, as these were sent to me by the Food Bloggers Council India for sampling, and since then I have been hooked. I recently tried both Chocolate and Vanilla flavours and loved them. Not all juices are born equal, how healthy is your bottle of juice..

We opt for fruit juices compared to the frizzy or synthetic drinks that are available in the market are we think that juices are more healthy and natural. But let’s understand if they are. There are majorly 3 types of juices that are available in the market, here is a fact check to decode which is giving you the maximum nutrition:

Centrifugal Juice – The most well-known way to extract juice, it uses metal blades to break down the fruit or vegetable to make juice. The heat generated by the metal blades destroys the delicate enzymes and brings down the nutrition value of the juice. Though it is an easy way to make juice and money, the process leads to high wastage, oxidation in 20 minutes and a juice which is low in nutrition. Popular brands like Real, Tropicana, etc use this technology.

Masticator Juice – This method uses a slow rotating gear to break the fruit or vegetable and then extract juice. Though this method is able to retain more nutrients compared to Centrifugal process due to less heat, it leads to oxidization of the juices limiting its nutritious value. This process leads to a lot of wastage and a modest quality juice.

Cold Pressed Juice – Fruits and vegetables are grounded to a pulp which is then squeezed to extract the juice. This is considered as the healthiest way to make juice. The resultant produce is 5 times healthier than the other processes as it retains the maximum nutrition value of the fruit / vegetable and minimum wastage. The HPP technology also avoids oxidation of the juice. Also, there are no added sugar, flavors, chemicals or preservatives.
