The conversation revolved around Breast Cancer, October being the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The talk aimed at creating awareness in society for actively fighting breast cancer by helping people understand what breast cancer is, how to detect the disease , its treatment options and ways to cope with the physical and emotional side effects . The talk bought out real life stories of breast cancer survivors who shared their experiences as to how to deal with the deadly disease as a patient, family or caregivers.

I recently had an opportunity to meet one such lady, Dr Rangana Rupavi Choudhuri. She is the founder of Vitality Living College, Vitality Leadership and Vitality Living, transforms lives through emotional well-being, personal development and spiritual growth seminars and trainings with international certification as well as one to one sessions.

Self healed from cancer, dys-functional reproductive system and chronic pain using alternate therapy and then left her highly paid career to develop a 7 step coaching system and created the life she wanted and now travels around them world-wide helping others to heal and transform from within and create the life, health, relationships and wealth they desire. According to her poor health is related to emotional stress and trauma, suppressing emotions can lead to diseases and hence she insists on healing oneself by controlling emotions and stress. She teaches EFT(Emotional Freedom Techniques) for the same. EFT is now used worldwide by millions and clears emotional stress and upsets. The technique has been clinically shown to reduce depression, anxiety, traumatic stress, phobias, pain, cravings, grief, fear, hurt, guilt as well as negative memories. Once negativity is cleared it creates a feeling of well being and calmness.

EFT combines tapping on acupressure points while repeating specific phrases relating to stress and emotional traumas. The technique integrates ancient wisdom and the science of acupuncture with modern day psychology without the need of needles.

Negative emotions cause a disruption of the body’s energy system. By tapping on the acupuncture points and saying phrases out loud EFT re-wires the energy system creating a feeling of peace, calm and letting go. In many cases after EFT, people experience a shift in thinking that is more empowering.

While attending her workshop, I saw many live examples where in people shared their issues and Dr. Rangana instantly guided them through the process of EFT. I myself have been practicing EFT ever since I attended her workshop and I recommend this strongly. The hills will come alive once again with the reverberating sounds of machines as man battles it out on the world’s highest arena at the 18th edition of the Maruti Suzuki Raid de Himalaya.

The countdown has begun for the world’s highest motorsport event which is all set to kick off this year on 8th October from the Manali. Undoubtedly, the stakes run even higher this time as the rally runs on new roads this year!

The capital of Spiti, Kaza, which sits on the eroded floodplain at an altitude of 12,500 feet will be the first stop for the Raid. From thereon, it will make its way towards Sarchu, picturesque Leh and then back to Manali over the course of 7 days, covering approx. 2000 kms. The extreme test of mental endurance and physical fitness will see a battle of hostile proportions with participants dodging tough terrains and inclement weather as the race culminates in Manali on 15th October for the grand prize distribution.

Maruti Suzuki Raid-de-Himalaya is one of the two off-road motor rallies from India listed in the annual motorsport calendar of Switzerland based Federation Internationale Automobile (FIA) and Federation Internationale Motorcyclisme (FIM). The Maruti Suzuki Raid De Himalaya will be run in compliance with the International Sporting Code of the FIA, National Competition Rules (NCR) & General Prescriptions of the FMSCI.

The rally is organized with the aim of conducting motor sporting events in the Himalayan regions of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. All members of Himalayan Motorsport Association have been associated with motorsport for the last 20 to 30 years as rally drivers or organizers, across the country. 200 + qualified Scrutineers and Stewards who have current Scrutineer and Steward Licenses from the FMSCI will be making sure that rally sets some new standards this time.
