Some conversations feel different…
this was one of them.
Sitting through the monsoons, over a cup of tea, I spoke with Odette Mascarenhas about what really went into writing Culinary Odyssey of Goa... a book that goes beyond recipes and captures the stories, memories, and people behind Goan food.
From years of documenting traditions to preserving ingredients and narratives that are slowly fading, this conversation gives a glimpse into the thought, effort, and emotion behind the book.
Because sometimes, food isn’t just about what’s on the plate…
it’s about everything that came before it.

Tried the popular Beef Chili Con Carne from Nicky M's Kitchen, and it absolutely lived up to the hype.
Perfectly spiced, rich, hearty and packed with flavour, it comes served with nachos and salad. I started off enjoying it with the nachos and then paired it with toasted bread, and honestly, both combinations were equally delicious.
If you're a fan of comforting beef dishes, this is definitely one to add to your Goa food list.

We’ve always thought of certain desserts as truly Goan…
but what if they didn’t actually originate here?
In this episode of Tête-à-Tea, we talk about 3 desserts that have become deeply associated with Goa over time, even though their roots lie elsewhere.
From Bebinca, often called the queen of Goan desserts, to others we’ve grown up seeing everywhere… this conversation explores how food travels, evolves, and becomes part of a place’s identity.
Because sometimes, what feels local… isn’t always where it started.

Looking for good cafes in Porvorim?
In this video, we explored 3 different spots: Cafe Central, Mona’s Coffee Shop, and Doda Atelier — and tried their best-selling dishes to see what’s actually worth it.
From beverages and quick bites to desserts, this was a fun little cafe hopping experience around Porvorim.
Each place had its own vibe and standout dishes, so if you’re around this side of Goa and want to try something new, these are definitely worth checking out.

These viral fruit-shaped desserts that you’ve been seeing all over the internet are finally available in Goa through Taste of Luxury.
A delicate chocolate shell on the outside with soft, creamy indulgence inside… and honestly, they taste as good as they look.

The mango and coffee flavours were my absolute favourites. And don’t miss their cake pops too, they’re rich, soft and completely addictive.
Luxury desserts are officially here in Goa. 🤍
