A Social Catalyst, Zone by the Park

A Social Catalyst, Zone by the Park

This is the age of networking, and we are social beings. That is the simple belief behind the creation of Zone by The Park. A chain of upscale hotels designed to go beyond just a superior room and service experience to become a hub of social interactivity for the modern business and leisure traveler.
Zone by the park is set to lead a social shift in hospitality; taking hospitality to a whole new level making the hotel a social hotspot.
With relaxed, unbox spaces where connections are made and ideas exchanged, a happening bar and restaurants and buzzing nightlife, Zone is much more than a hotel. It is a concept whose time has come. Zone is a new brand under the Park Hotels umbrella, spear headed by Priya Paul, chairperson, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels Ltd., in consultation with UK based architecture firm, Project Orange.

The first thing that strikes you when you’ll enter the property is the colourful zone auto-rickshaw that is customised to serve coffee and snacks and is accessorised with quirky knick-knacks in bright colours.

A replica of this auto was also placed at the entrance of the Zone launch party and served as a perfect photo-opportunity for the people. A miniature version is also what we got as a give away, something really cute to cherish and treasure.

Speaking at the event, Priya Paul, said,”Our guest rooms are designed for endless likes; contemporary, comfortable, customised for today’s multi-tasters. Thats what a stay at Zone is all about. A touch pad gives the guest complete control over their experience. There are nooks for modern gizmos, well planned storage, and many extras that will have guests coming back.
A lively casual lounge, Z-bar, which is a social hub of the town and changes into a vibrant pulsating nightspot on the weekends and a distinctive Z shaped bar.
A free flowing multi cuisine experience just off the lobby with multiple service points and formats and innovative multi-pricing options give our guests the Bazaar experience.
An open plan lobby that can be re-aarenged for private events, a bulletin that connects you with city’s actions, consoles for gaming options in the lobby and the coolest cafe on wheels.”

“Our brand beliefs, social; nimble; at ease.
We believe that the design of our space inspires and encourages our guests to meet, mingle and share. We believe in a place that is always on the move and in service that is quick and efficient. We believe that our friendly atmosphere will allow our guets to feel comfortable and be who they are(and let their hair down when they need to!)

Social by design, Zone will change the way people meet up, tweet up and put their feet up!
Social by format, Zone is big enough to make great business sense and small enough to make great friends”, said Ms, Paul

Zone by the park is open in Coimbatore, Jaipur, Chennai ORR, with up coming hotels in Bengaluru, Mahabalipuram, Jodhpur, Raipur, Igatpuri, Goa and Sindhudurg.

The party thrown to launch Zone by the Park in itself spoke volumes about the quality of service and the brand promise.
The snacks were great, and also had some unusual live counters representing the Zone hotels from each city. There were live Pasta Counters, Dosa Counters and Dimsum Counters as well.
The bar was open with high class malts flowing freely.
The dinner also included some famous regional dishes like the Lal Maas, Gulab Jamum ki Sabzi etc. and it was delectable.

Being an avid traveler, I look forward to staying at one of the Zone hotels in my next trip.
Quick fix beauty treatments for People always on the go” authored byDr. Chytra V Anand, CEO & Consultant Cosmetic Dermatologist, KosmodermaClinics.

Quick fix beauty treatments for People always on the go” authored byDr. Chytra V Anand, CEO & Consultant Cosmetic Dermatologist, KosmodermaClinics.

Today in Delhi, tomorrow in Mumbai and the day after in Singapore!
If your life is packed with such uncertainties and a choc a bloc busy schedule, where will you find the time to look after your beauty? In the changing lifestyles of today, when people struggle to get 6 hours of basic sleep, beauty care and grooming might appear difficult to pack in your busy schedules. But, this is when you need to take more care of your skin for stress and lack of rest quicken the process of ageing and skin degeneration.

Sun exposure, persistent environmental onslaught, depletion of moisture and stress are factors that leave an indelible mark on our skin as we age, causing worries and concerns. Surely, you do not want to look 45 at 35.
As we run around the town morning and night, finishing our chores, our mothers keep reminding us of the elaborate beauty rituals they used to practice to keep themselves youthful and beautiful. You may not have the time to follow the extensive beauty routines and homemade beauty remedies of yesteryears, but what you have on your side is advanced research and technology in the field of beauty care.
Today is the time for quick fix beauty care. Treatments and procedures that yield results quickly are extremely popular among both men and women. In every civilization, in every society, the quest to keep looking young and beautiful is common. Technology in the modern times has given us our own ‘elixirs’ that can ensure the fountains of youth and beauty flow unabated.
So, if you do not have enough time to spend on your face and skin every day, fret not, here are some quick fix beauty procedures that can keep you looking beautiful – all you need is step out of work during lunch time and spend just half an hour at a beauty clinic.
Say goodbye to hollow eyes
When stress and persistent lack of sleep leads to dark circles and hollows under your eyes, you know it’s time to worry. They not just mar your beauty, they make you appear ill and unhealthy. Certainly, you do not want to go to work every day looking sick, weary and aged. A session with dermal fillers like Juvederm can remarkably cover-up, rather fill-up your hollows. Juvederm are hyaluronic acid based new age fillers that can be administered under the skin to give it more volume. They not just fill up the hollow areas, but also fill the fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, making you look healthier and younger. All in a matter of a few minute!
Get rid of Acne scars
One of the most common and torturous beauty scares are acne and the scars they leave. If you are fed up of covering up your acne scars with make up every day, you should meet a dermatologist and try a laser anti-scar procedure. The laser procedure may take 4-6 sessions of a few minutes each, which you can get done in your lunch, breaks. Procedures like Scar Lift and Revlite photofacial are ideal.
Get rid of your frown lines
The frown lines on our forehead develop with time and age as the worry lines that keep coming all life become sort of permanent. They give us a tired, stressed out and aged look. However, the frown lines can be taken care of by Botox wonderfully. When administered into the muscles causing the frown, the drug prevents them from taking this action, thereby getting rid of the frown lines. The procedure takes a few minutes and its effect lasts for several months. If taken from an earlier age, the procedure would also delay the onset of the wrinkles that are caused by muscle action.
Skin exfoliation to rejuvenate the skin
The dullness and lack of sheen of the skin is often because the dead cells are clouding the surface. Some good and quick exfoliating treatments like chemical peels and microdermabrasion can remove the dead layer and bring back a youthful glow. Diamond Polishing is another technique in which the skin is polished with diamonds fixed on tips that electronically move on the skin. This is useful in removing dead cells, scars, and tanning and overall improves glow and complexion of the skin.
Smile without the crow’s feet
Do you hate the bunch of wrinkles that crowd around your eyes when you smile? Years of laughing and smiling inadvertently leave us with a bunch of fine lines and wrinkles around our eyes, often referred to as the crow’s feet. Botox and dermal fillers like Juvederm can reduce their appearances, cutting down the years on your life’s slate. Skin tightening with Radiofrequency procedures also helps by increasing skin collagen and elastin.

The Very Appetising Asian Hawkers Market…!!

The Very Appetising Asian Hawkers Market…!!

AFTER attracting more than 45,000 visitors in 2015 and getting rave reviews from the media, the Asian Hawkers Market was back with a bigger and spicier second edition to make the Valentine’s Day weekend more special at the Select Citywalk, Saket, on February 12-14, 2016.
This three-day food festival saw the best of five-star and standalone restaurants come together to present the cuisines of Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

An impressive slew of debuts was be the big attraction of the Asian Hawkers Market-II (AHM-II), Delhi’s only celebration of Asian cuisines being presented by Veeba Food Services Pvt. Ltd., makers of the popular sauces, mayonnaise and salad dressings.

Spicy Chicken Momos from Chi were simply amazing. Standing there waiting for them to serve the momos, the mere preparing of chicken satays looked very inviting and hence I ordered a portion of that as well, and they were delicious.

The hustle bustle and the liveliness of the place was so overwhelming, the aromas of food were filling the air around, and one ends up feeling eating even when not hungry.

This aroma took me to the stall of Bercos and I ordered the combo meals, one with noodles and garlic chicken and other with fried rice and garlic chicken, and again both of them were delectable.

There was a lot more on the offer, like the Baos from Fatty Bao, the Sushi from En, Sandwiches from Big Fat Sandwich, Sugarama’s pralines and macaroons and ice-creams from Hokey Pokey and many more stalls selling awesome food, but one can only eat selected food and crave for others thinking and planning that next time when Asian Hawkers Market happens, this is where I am going and this is what I am eating.

So here is to all those stalls from which I missed out on eating this time that next time around I will surely make up for it and hope to see you guys soon.
Exhibitor’s Abode.. Consumer’s Paradise- India Design Exhibition 2016

Exhibitor’s Abode.. Consumer’s Paradise- India Design Exhibition 2016

Style, Class, Richness, Grandeur, Opulence were some of the words that come to mind the moment I entered the decoration arena of India Design Exhibition.
This Ogaan initiative, presented by Asian Paints was in its fourth successful year and brought together renowned designers across the globe to showcase and exchange dialogue on various perspective of this domain.
The platform for India Design ID 2016  comprised of three verticals – Exhibit ID, ID Symposium powered by Roca and ID Satellite. These three arms brought together prominent design experts and international design visionaries to share their experiences, knowledge and aesthetics through exhibitions, installations and discussions.
Commenting on the initiative, Gaurav Mashruwala, CEO, Ogaan Media Pvt. Ltd. said, “Ogaan has always been at the forefront of furthering the cause of design, be it fashion or lifestyle and decor. As we embark on our journey for the fourth edition of India Design ID 2016, we are proud to reinforce our role in fostering talent and growing the business of design in the country”.

Exhibit ID was the exhibition space that showcased the finest in home decoration, with high-end brands and designers unveiling their latest collections.

The Decoration Pavilion included established names such as SPACES Home and Beyond, arttd’inox, Antonio Lupi, beyondDESIGNS, K2India, Poltrona Frau Group, Baaroq Designs, Sarita Handa, The Charcoal Project, The Pure Concept and CJ Living to name a few.

The Trends Pavilion featured designer interpretations of the colour trends forecast for 2016. Asian Paints  announced their Colour Next 2016 forecasts at the event to supplement the efforts of creating awareness and backing the design intent of India Design ID 2016.
And finally the outdoor space featured installations by leading designers like Peek-a-boo Patterns, CMYK Book Store, Studio Wood, Bird Fire, THE PURE CONCEPT, Alex Davis and many more.
This year there was a second decoration pavilion called New Decoration which was an addition to India Design ID 2016 which featured new exhibitors namely, Diviana, Fcdi  – FCML Design initiative, SAINT-GOBAIN, Square inch, Spaces Home and Beyond, Häfele India and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance.
ID Symposium, powered by Roca seeked to inspire the design fraternity in India, and also offer a networking opportunity to build relationships within the industry. ID Symposium featured engaging speakers from different walks of life, such as Ashiesh Shah, Dominique Jean-Lavabre, Nipa Doshi, Tom Dixon, Fernando Menis, Greg Reaves, Mario Bellini, India Mahdavi and Toyo Ito to name a few.

This year visitors to India Design ID 2016 had wide array of eating options to choose from, such as Brown Sugar, Dunkin Donuts, Jugmug Thela, The Park Café, Junglee Billee, Ploof At The Beach, F.A.T Chef, The Backyard, Zeaside, Drifters Café.

ID Satellite, the hip offsite vertical discovered design districts of Delhi with promotions, collaborations and events across different venues through week long festivities at design districts like Lado Sarai, Meharchand Market, Shahpur Jat, Defence Colony, and MG Road with new additions at Khan Market and Greater Kailash which had the capital buzzing with design. The participating venues featured design-linked activities across lifestyle stores, restaurants, malls, bookshops, galleries, select public/private locations, with an explosion of launches, new collections, cocktails, previews, reviews and special events.

Each stall at the exhibition spoke volumes about the effort that designers put in to create such exquisite collection. I was in complete awe of the place, it was truly a visual treat hoping from one stall to another. Some of the stalls still managed to stand apart distinguishably from others and one such stall that caught my eyes was by INLIVING(Consciously Engineered). Their collection was truly mind blowing, they specialise in solid wood furniture and recycled products are also their USP. The colours, the vibrancy and the intricacy of designs were remarkable.

Other stall that really caught my attention was Sarita Handa’s stall. It was classy in every sense, and the live demonstration of hand embroidery done at the stall made it even more delightful to watch.

The lights at Ivanka Lumiere were out of this world, I just kept staring them for along time. The designs were really cool, modern and chic.

I filled my tummy with delicious Italian Food served by the The Cafe, The Park and that is how I brought my day at the India Design Exhibition to an end. It was an overwhelming experience and I look forward to it already for next time.
Park Hotels Serve Delectable Italian Food at the India Design Exhibition

Park Hotels Serve Delectable Italian Food at the India Design Exhibition

This year, India Design Exhibition offered a lot of eating options, but I chose to settle for Italian Food at the Cafe, the Park.

The entire concept was very inviting, with them bringing out the old world charm and serving food in ‘Bernies’ and terracotta utensils.

I ordered a Minestrone Soup which was simply amazing to taste, to go along with it there was also a chicken appetiser, though little bland, but was tender and juicy.

For the main course, we ordered chicken and bell peppers risotto, and I have to say that it was one of the best I had in a long time.

The chicken was cooked to perfection and the risotto tasted just awesome.

But the best was yet to come, it was the chocolate mud cake with caramel sauce, and no words would be enough to praise this delicious dessert. It was a heavenly experience, simply mouth melting. I could have easily taken another portion of the same provided I wasn’t too full from chicken risotto, but nevertheless I relished it completely.

Dining at the Cafe, the Park was a perfect way to end my day at the India Design Exhibition. They had a fun selfie contest too, and I did upload my selfie now lets see if I win or not..

The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, Delhi hosts a live cooking session with Actors Rohit Roy and Mona Singh..!!

The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, Delhi , the capital’s newest Leela property hosted a glamorous chocolaty affair with actors Rohit Roy and Mona Singh. The actors along with executive chef Rohit Tokhi, whipped up some special Valentine’s Day dishes and dedicated it to their loved ones.

The menu, which was curated specially for the evening, included dishes like warm Chocolate pudding, chocolate dipped strawberry.

On being asked about cooking, Mona said, “I love cooking and experimenting with food, and when I am not working, cooking makes my most favourite pass time.”

Rohit on the other hand, loves eating but very openly admitted that he cannot cook, though he did help the chef with little stirring of the chocolate mix 🙂
The actors were in Delhi for their upcoming play ‘Unfaithfully Yours’. “The play showcases relationship between two people who aren’t married to each other, but share a unique bond, one accidental meeting leads to an instant connect, such that for the next 25 years they meet each other on the same day at the same place, every year.”, explained Rohit about the gist of the play.
But in real life, he believes in being very faithful to his wife Mansi, who was accompanying him at the event, and quoted “I very strongly believe that marriage should be for the keeps, and today’s youth should understand this, and be ready to compromise and adjust”.

While Rohit has his valentine by his side, on being asked about her Valentine plans, Mona Said,”Oh, I will be celebrating Valentine’s day performing with Rohit, and otherwise my parents are my true valentines”.

On being asked about her current assignments, she said, ” One of my shows on Sony TV just wrapped up and now I am again on a break as far as TV is concerned, but I am enjoying every bit of doing theatre and which is why I am here.”

The warm chocolate pudding they made, turned up to be really awesome and was relished by everyone present.

There were other snacks also to relish, like Potali Samosas, Chicken Satay and many more..

Speaking about the event Mr. Jaideep Anand, General Manager, The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, Delhi said “Valentines is all about making your loved feel special. We are delighted to host this lovely evening close to valentines with the two actors. Further to this, we are offering an array of interesting valentines day packages for our guests to make their day special.”

It was a great event hosted by Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, a beautiful property that needs to be explored more, and I wish luck to both the actors for their play. And to capture the memories selfie toh banti thi..!!

BBQ Sun Downer At Junglee Billee..!!

Junglee Billee, the hot and happening restaurant in M-block, Greater Kailash 1 Market, adds another feather in their menu as they introduce BBQ specialities for sundowners every Saturday and Sunday.
It will be the first time that city will witness live grills on lave stones.

The menu has a lot to offer and has choices for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian people. There was Cottage cheese and exotic vegetable skewer, Chargrilled mushrooms, Seared polenta, Double cheese chargrilled vegetarian sliders, Garlic thyme marinated fish, Cajun spiced chicken skewer, Grilled chicken sausage, Lamb kibbeh were some of the things on the offering. There were a few pass around snacks as well, like the Fresh tomato pesto bruschetta, Spinach and mushroom quiche, Dips and chips, Chicken and cream cheese tart, Dill and fish canape and Rosemary lamb pastry puff.

I happened to be present at the Launch Event of this BBQ Sun Downer, and have to say that Junglee Billee never fails to surprise me. The look and feel of the place in itself is so welcoming and every time I visit, I discover newer elements which leave me in complete awe of it.
The ambience was perfect, the terrace, the weather, the music and most importantly the food and drinks.

The sangrias were amazing and were the highlight of the evening, though there were other drinks available as well, at the open bar. The chargrilled mushrooms were something I can go back anytime for.
The cottage cheese and exotic vegetable skewer was more than perfect. The cajun spiced chicken skewer and garlic thyme marinated fish, were a mouth melting experience. The spices were just right and both chicken and fish very tender.
From the pass around snacks I tried the rosemary lamb pastry puff and it was excellent, slightly on the spicy side, but great to taste. The chicken and cream cheese tarts were delectable too.

I have a special mention for the entire team of Junglee Billee, their hospitality is top class. Nida Mahmood, the brains behind the quirky design of the restaurant was seen attending to the people personally, I had a long chat with their head chef Pawan, who went on to explain the concept and dishes and the handwork gone behind developing this special menu and the way entire team looks after the guests, its truly commendable.
The place was bustling with people and yet, at no times the staff made you feel left out. They were constantly on their toes bringing one delicacy after another and personally looking into the requirements of the guests.

Pawan, also took me around the place personally, and as I explored each floor, with him explaining the details and showing the things, my jaws dropped. The swarovski jeweled posters were simply mind blowing and so is the collection of swarovski jewellery, displayed there. Nida has done an exceptional work with the place, each art work is like a story in itself and I still feel there is a lot more yet to be explored in this amazing restaurant and I can’t wait for the moment when they open their retail and I can treasure some of these artworks with me. The real show stopper was the Junglee Billee logo unit made in swarovski crystals, its a must watch whenever you visit the place.

A place that has such great interiors, a perfect ambience and amazing food & hospitality, what else can one ask for. So don’t think much, just head straight to Junglee Billee and enjoy live grills as you explore and fall in love with the place.

Top CEOs of the country, adorn chef hats for a social cause…!!

Top CEOs of the country, adorn chef hats for a social cause…!!

The afternoon of 6th February, saw 9 CEOS of the country come together, not to discuss business plans with presentations or to crack deals with their negotiations, but they came forward and together for a cause. They came together, to support Genesis Foundation, which has been working for critically ill underprivileged children since 2001. It was the 9th season of this annual event organised by Genesis, and the money raised through the event goes towards the medical treatment of these children. It was a great cause, and a great event too, because the CEOs were not doing their bit by just donating money, it was different, the CEOs came together and put their culinary skills to practice for raising funds for this cause.
They adorned chef hats and cooked and served a number of guests, who were especially invited for the event. Ms. Prema Sagar, Founder of Genesis, was overwhelmed with the turn out at the event as she deeply connects with the cause.

The ambience of the event was perfect, bright sunny afternoon, open lawns of Crowne Plaza, Gurgaon and some great music by an energetic band.
Different cuisine stalls were handled by different CEOs and when the cause and intentions behind cooking are good, the food has to turn out awesome.

The first counter belonged to Lebanese Cuisine and the chef behind the counter was Mr. Sanjay Modi, MD Monster India. “I have been learning cooking since a month now, and have tried my hands at making Aaloo Gobhi, Pulao and other things and today with a little assistance I am preparing Shwarmas, as I thought they are extremely popular these days”, he said on being questioned about his cooking skills. His preparation was totally upto the mark.

Mr. Sanjay Modi

Next was the Brazilian counter, where Mr. Oliver Mirza, Oetker India, dished out some broccoli in creamy sauce and was also serving Brazilian barbecued chicken and fish. The broccoli was very yummy and so was the chicken, which I saw him serving to the people, right till the end, holding the skewer in his hands.

 Mr. Oliver Mirza

Mr, Rajan Chopra, CEO, Team Computers and Mr. Lindgren Lars Olof, Head of Market Area India, SAAB Group, held the forts for Italian Cuisine, preparing delectable pastas for vegetarian and non-vegetarian audiences respectively. I personally relished the chicken pasta in white sauce made by Lindgren live in front of me. It was truly remarkable to see these CEOs cooking with so much dedication and passion. “I am cooking after some 10 years, but the cause is such, that I am thoroughly enjoying myself”, said Mr. Rajan Chopra as he tossed some pasta in his pan.

 Mr. Rajan Chopra
Mr. Lindgren Lars Olof

Mr. Suman Bose, MD India, Siemens Industry Software, took over the Japanese counter, and in a most dedicated way possible, he kept tossing portions of chicken noodles one after another.”I cook quite often and enjoy doing it, but today its even more special as the cause we are doing it for, is very close to my heart,” he said, as I enjoyed his preparation.

Mr. Suman Bose

Ms. Manisha Sood, Country General Manager, Fitbit India along with Mr. Suresh Narayanan, chairman and MD, Nestle India, held on to their regional roots and prepared delicacies of Andhra. They made some crispy dosas, biryani and lamb curry.

Ms. Manisha Sood and Mr. Suresh Narayanan

Mr. Sri Ranjan, Chairman, Bain & Company India, was making some very interesting and delicious looking crepes with variety of fruits and other sauces,as he handled the dessert counter.  “My wife has set this as benchmark for my cooking”, so do let me know how I fared”, he joked as he handed me over my crepe. He prepared a mixed fruit crepe with strawberry sauce for me, and I could not stop gazing at it for sometime, it looked so tempting, and it tasted even better. I am very sure he will be handling the desserts department at home too, from now on as his wife will be pretty impressed with his hidden skills 🙂
Mr. Sri Ranjan

Other than cooking behind the counters, these chefs were seen enjoying and mingling with the people present, and also dancing to the songs sung by the live band.

Mr Rajan Chopra seen here, enjoying a dance with his wife.

Ms Prema Sagar with All the CEOs and their respective wives

It was a great event, and I felt honoured being part of such an initiative by Genesis Foundation. Working as a professional brand strategy planner, I know how these senior people juggle so many roles and responsibilities in their business lives, and it takes a lot to leave all that, and come forward to do something like this. Hats off to each one of them and God bless the kids for whom all of these people put in so many efforts.

We tried the Big Bull Iced Tea and the Double Trouble Iced Tea, they were truly mind blowing, one glass serves two, so be sure you share your drink with your significant someone

For Sizzlers, we first tried the Mexican Chicken Chipotle & Prawn Skillet; they came with Masala Fries, and Mexican Rice. First look at the sizzler, the aroma and that sizzling sound.. and I could feel my senses awakening. I didn’t waste time and wanted to scintillate my other two senses of touch and taste as well. It was truly delectable. The chicken and prawns were both very tender and the flavors of chipotle stood out perfectly.

What followed next was Thai Chicken Skillet with Garlic Rice and Herb Crusted Chicken with Tomato Spaghetti, have to say that both of them were utterly delicious and done to perfection. In spite of trying 3 varieties of chicken sizzlers, I have to admit that each of them had a very distinct taste and were truly remarkable.

They offer a reasonable vegetarian variety as well, like the Italian Mafia Skillet, Thai Style Grilled Cottage Cheese Skillet, Grilled Paneer Tikka Skillet etc. and I am sure they would be great too, as being a hardcore non-vegetarian I ended up tasting all non-veg variety.
