Goa has no shortage of trendy restaurants. Mamagoto in Panjim stands out for its playful Asian food. The dishes are served with a dose of colour, quirk, and cocktails.
As part of my series “Trying the Best Asian Restaurants in Goa,” I stopped by Mamagoto with my camera (and appetite) ready. And spoiler alert: between my dimsum dropping moment and my son’s flawless chopstick finesse, it turned out to be a full-blown foodie adventure.
First Impressions
The vibe hits you the moment you walk in. Think: pop-art murals, neon splashes, and kitschy decor that feels like Tokyo and Bangkok crashed into an art gallery. Mamagoto’s interiors are bold, Instagrammable, and full of energy — a visual treat before the food even arrives.
If you’re someone who eats with your eyes first (aren’t we all?), this place is a feast in every way.

What We Ordered at Mamagoto Panjim
Here’s everything we tried — each dish had its own personality:
🥟 Spicy Street-Style Chicken Dimsums (₹519)
Juicy, bold, and exactly what they promised — street-style with a spicy punch. I tried eating them with chopsticks (you’ll see how that went in the video 👀) but honestly, they tasted better eaten the desi way — with hands and heart!
🥯 Pan-Fried Chicken Bao (₹529)
Soft, fluffy bao with a beautifully crisped bottom and well-seasoned filling. It wasn’t too spicy, which made it a hit for anyone who loves subtle flavour without fire.
🍣 Chicken Katsu Sushi (₹699)
Neat, fresh, and satisfying. Not the best sushi I’ve had, but definitely enjoyable — a good mix of texture and crunch with that familiar katsu flavour.
🌶️ 1990’s Style Chilly Chicken (₹469)
This was a total nostalgia trip! Spicy, saucy, and straight out of a college-days Chinese takeaway fantasy. The kind of dish you mop up completely without shame.
🍸 Citrus Signature Cocktail (₹450)
Refreshing and slightly tangy, this cocktail was the perfect companion to the spicy food. Light enough to sip throughout the meal.
Our Experience at Mamagoto
We didn’t even make it to the main course — and that’s not a complaint! Everything we ordered left us happily stuffed.
There were hilarious moments (like my dimsum drop 😂), proud mom moments (my son’s chopstick mastery), and a shared love for flavour-packed bites that made the meal memorable.

Not making it to the main course is always a good sign lol lol The appetizers you ordered are sooo delicious, I would have ordered the same.
It sounds amazing. I love authentic chilli chicken and I am also a huge sushi fan – so the katsu sushi would be a first choice. The decor looks great too.
Hehehe yes, but when you come back, sometimes you miss trying the main course despite being so full.
Oh wow! That food looks delicious and gorgeous. I would definitely love a meal or three there.
Love that, a meal or three! Yes for sure you can have many meals there.
All those foods look so good. I wish you had a place near me. Love it!
Yeah, I shall pass on your message to the restaurant 🙂
This looks like a restaurant that I would enjoy. The dishes look tasty and the menu is very varied too!
Yup, I am sure you will love it
Oh wow, the food there sounds amazing and looks droolworthy! I would definitely try the chicken dimsum and wash that down with their citrus cocktail. Sounds like a great place to dine.
This place looks amazing! I’d definitely order the chicken baos and try out the signature cocktail!
I’m not sure I know any asian dishes as it’s not a cuisine we have often, your meal looks fab though.
I do really enjoy places that feel like a whole vibe – which this sounds like it does! The food does look fantastic. I have not had dumplings in so long.
