Rukhsat the Departure- Book Review

This is the book by the author Sujit Bannerjee a certified healer and a professional in the tourism industry.
A very commendable effort.
He has taken the Alphabets from A to Z and given us twenty six short stories.
Some stand alone some intertwined which really take you by surprise.
I had to at times go back to the earlier story linked together to really get to the related content. Another novel way of presentation. The author has a simple straightforward narrative most of the way. But I found the opening story Abhimanyu a little profound but aesthetically captured.
The nuances of the thought process of an unborn child visualizing history is very well put together.
The collection of other stories takes you through a wide range of emotions. Some of the standout ones for me were Devesh the Confession and Yasmin Bai and the Letter Box.
I would definetely recommend it.Go for it friends. Really worth a read.

Born to Bengali parents in Lucknow, I grew up in Patna where I finished my post-graduation in Psychology and ended up becoming a tour operator instead of a Psychologist! Which was
good since a Bengali born in UP and reared in Bihar does not make a great Psychologist! Am I now glad to be in tourism? It has taken me all over the world including places you would have never heard of. Eh? How about Tlacotalpan? It’s in Mexico.

Destiny had other plans as well so I became a reluctant healer. A crazy Shaman in Mexico set the ball rolling and it has rolled all the way to Delhi. Today I both heal as well as read Tarot cards. My wife thinks I am mad. My friends think I am weird. I guess I am both.

My first story was published in a magazine when I was seventeen. The Editor made such a hash of it that I stopped sending out my stories but I continued writing. Then I broke my heart and started writing poems; first in Hindi and then in English. All personal collection. They still remain personal. I do shudder when I read some of them! Then the short stories came back and written over two years – now is a collection.

Bushra Collection by Akassh K Aggarwal

Bushra means ‘good news’ and this collection by Akassh Aggarwal is surely a good news for all jewellery lovers. The word completely resonates with the collection. It is made by using fine techniques in filigree motif, stamped light weight metal sheet work, embossed flora n fauna motifs and vibrant metallic colors of gold and silver. Its very rare that each and every piece of the collection is equally artistic and mind-blowing. I just could not help myself, and tried quite few of them at the store itself. Check out my Instgram and you’ll know what I am talking about. Akassh’s Bushra collection is found its home nestled in a beautiful designer showroom called Buzzaria.

Buzzaria in itself is a very vibrant place and showcases works of other designers too. Coming back to the Bushra Collection, it includes exquisite neck pieces, ear-rings, bracelets, rings and lot of other interesting stuff. Here is a sneak peek from what all I loved.

Book Review- Voice Mates by Anamika Mishra

Voice mates is the story of a rich young girl Tulip who’s an aspiring singer.

The author takes you through the trials and turbulations of this young girl who wants to participate in a singing talent hunt show against the wishes of her very strict parents.Moreover to participate she needs to have a male partner which to her wildest dreams her parents would never allow her to take on.The writing style of the author is very simple and easy to grasp.

She captures the little details of the entire exercise beautifully. Especially the finding of her partner and the up and downs in their relationship which takes a twist towards the end.

The message is loud n clear if you want something badly enough you can achieve it, and having said that life moves on.

Go for it to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Surprising my mom with Surprise Someone.In

Gifts are surely a way of conveying your love and feelings for the other person, and when they come like a surprise, they become even more special. My mom recently gifted a game of Tic Tac Toe that she bought from Surprise Someone, to me and to show her my gratitude and love in turn, I bought a surprise gift for her.

Delhi gets its first regular Milonga curated by Tango Maestros Kiran Sawhney and Eduardo

1^st July Friday saw none other than Tango Maestros Kiran Sawhney and Eduardo organizing the official launch of Delhi Milonga at the Eros Hotel, Nehru Place.

Milonga is typically an event where Tango is danced. Milongas are usually regular in nature, like once a week, and begins with Tango class and demonstrations followed by networking with like minded people who share their passion for Tango over drinks and food.

This was my first time at attending such an event and I must admit that it has been a very pleasant experience indeed. It was truly a memorable evening. The evening started with a Tango demonstration and practice class where in Tango enthusiasts tried their hand, oops not hand but their feet at dance. The ambience of Bar & Lounge at Eros made a perfect setting for Tango Session.

Tango is a partner dance that originated in the 1880s along the River Plate, the natural border between Argentina and Uruguay, and soon spread to the rest of the world.

Music and dance elements of tango are popular in activities related to gymnastics, figure skating, synchronized swimming, etc., because of its dramatic feeling and its cultural associations with romance.

It has been suggested that tango makes people feel more relaxed, sexier, and less depressed, and increases testosterone levels.Tangolates is an exercise method that combines the core stability of Pilates with the concentration, coordination and fluid movement of Tango, designed in 2004 by Tamara Di Tella. Utilizing a partner-method and incorporating the aerobic or cardio element of music, it started as a rehabilitation technique for patients with severe dysfunctions of the nervous system.

After the dance class, Kiran and Eduardo officially launched the Delhi Milonga with their breath-taking performance. It was sheer poetry in motion. Both of them are pros and watching them dance is magical, you just transform into a different world. It’s so soothing to the eyes and relaxing to the mind.

Kiran Sawhney is the first professionally trained Tango teacher in Delhi/India.Traveled all over the world, attended various Tango festivals, classes, practicas and milongas in UK, Tokyo, Dubai, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Singapore, Paris, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Fransisco, New York and Buenos Aires, in her pursuit for Tango. Learnt from the best Tango teachers in the world. Studied (Tango teacher training program) and apprenticed with master teacher, Daniel Trenner. Teaches Argentine Tango in New Delhi. Organizes, practicas, milongas (Milonga de Mis Amores) and Tango festival. Also manufactures, sells and exports Tango dresses and shoes under her own brand name- Mis Amores. Kiran is not just a pro in Tango but a lot of other dance forms like Zumba, Bharatnatyam and Contemporary too. She also runs the New Delhi Tango School and passes on her expertise to those who want to learn Tango.

On the other hand, Eduardo is Minister at The Embassy of Mexico and has been engaged in dance since 12 years and is shares the responsibility in teaching the students of NDTS the grooves of Tango.

Kiran Sawhney says, “I view Argentine Tango as a physical expression of the pain, the passion, and the life. It is a non-verbal language, to express oneself in new ways. It is a wonder drug that makes you younger, sexier, more philosophical, and more of who you really are. It is a way of life.”

I have two left feet and though I would love to explore all forms of dancing, it doesn’t come naturally to me but at the event I did try a few basic moves with Eudardo and enjoyed it a lot. It was great fun and I look forward to being part of more Milongas in time to come.

Jagermeister-“Master Class” with Nils Boese

Aspri Spirits, leading importers and distributors of some of the finest brands in the world of Wines and Spirits hosted a master evening class with Mr. NILS BOESE, Brand Ambassador- Mast Jägermeister SE, on 22^nd June 2016 at Bandstand, Hauz Khas, New Delhi.

The evening commenced with Mr. Nils Boese taking the patrons through Jägermeister profile and sharing his experience with the brand. He took them on a voyage of Jägermeister history and shared some interesting insights about the company and the brand. He also demonstrated interesting ways of creating exquisite cocktails with the unusual spirit.

Mr. Nils Boese is a renowned bartender and has a rich experience of 25 years. He runs his own small bar in Hildesheim, Germany, which is close to Wolfenbüttel where Jägermeister is meticulously produced. He is working with Jägermeister since 2010 as a Brand Ambassador.
