Authentic Lebanese Food at Fidahh..!

I have been to Epicuria Food Court a lot many times but somehow I always gave Fidahh a miss, but this time I around, after roaming around the entire food court I settled for Fidahh and I am so glad I did. On their manager’s recommendation I opted for Harissa Chicken. Harissa Chicken is a kind of chicken kebab and it comes with pita bread, roasted veggies and garlic dip. The chicken marinated with spices was delectable. Pita bread was soft and delicious and their garlic dip was just amazing. The dish had a very authentic Lebanese taste. It’s a complete meal in itself and so so full of taste. I relished it like anything and I am looking forward to going back there again and try more dishes. Hence Harissa Chicken is highly recommended.

Surprising my mom with Surprise Someone. In

Gifts are surely a way of conveying your love and feelings for the other person, and when they come like a surprise, they become even more special. My mom recently gifted a game of Tic Tac Toe that she bought from Surprise Someone, to me and to show her my gratitude and love in turn, I bought a surprise gift for her.

I gave her 6 nail paints from Maybelline and a beautiful neckpiece from the Bushra Collection by Akash Agarwal and now comes the real surprise element, the sweet little hut box in which I presented her my gift. Like my mom even I am hooked to the site Surprise Someone, and this is where I bought this beautiful box from. They have an amazing collection of gift items and also solutions for presenting your gifts in a better way.

Delhi gets its first regular Milonga curated by Tango Maestros Kiran Sawhney and Eduardo

1st July Friday saw none other than Tango Maestros Kiran Sawhney and Eduardo organizing the official launch of Delhi Milonga at the Eros Hotel, Nehru Place.

tango-in-delhi

Milonga is typically an event where Tango is danced. Milongas are usually regular in nature, like once a week, and begins with Tango class and demonstrations followed by networking with like minded people who share their passion for Tango over drinks and food.

DSC_0003-2

This was my first time at attending such an event and I must admit that it has been a very pleasant experience indeed. It was truly a memorable evening. The evening started with a Tango demonstration and practice class where in Tango enthusiasts tried their hand, oops not hand but their feet at dance. The ambience of Bar & Lounge at Eros made a perfect setting for Tango Session.

Tango is a partner dance that originated in the 1880s along the River Plate, the natural border between Argentina and Uruguay, and soon spread to the rest of the world.

DSC_0011-3

Music and dance elements of tango are popular in activities related to gymnastics, figure skating, synchronized swimming, etc., because of its dramatic feeling and its cultural associations with romance.

It has been suggested that tango makes people feel more relaxed, sexier, and less depressed, and increases testosterone levels.Tangolates is an exercise method that combines the core stability of Pilates with the concentration, coordination and fluid movement of Tango, designed in 2004 by Tamara Di Tella. Utilizing a partner-method and incorporating the aerobic or cardio element of music, it started as a rehabilitation technique for patients with severe dysfunctions of the nervous system.

After the dance class, Kiran and Eduardo officially launched the Delhi Milonga with their breath-taking performance. It was sheer poetry in motion. Both of them are pros and watching them dance is magical, you just transform into a different world. It’s so soothing to the eyes and relaxing to the mind.

Kiran Sawhney is the first professionally trained Tango teacher in Delhi/India.Traveled all over the world, attended various Tango festivals, classes, practicas and milongas in UK, Tokyo, Dubai, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Singapore, Paris, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Fransisco, New York and Buenos Aires, in her pursuit for Tango. Learnt from the best Tango teachers in the world. Studied (Tango teacher training program) and apprenticed with master teacher, Daniel Trenner. Teaches Argentine Tango in New Delhi. Organizes, practicas, milongas (Milonga de Mis Amores) and Tango festival. Also manufactures, sells and exports Tango dresses and shoes under her own brand name- Mis Amores. Kiran is not just a pro in Tango but a lot of other dance forms like Zumba, Bharatnatyam and Contemporary too. She also runs the New Delhi Tango School and passes on her expertise to those who want to learn Tango.

DSC_0019-3

On the other hand, Eduardo is Minister at The Embassy of Mexico and has been engaged in dance since 12 years and is shares the responsibility in teaching the students of NDTS the grooves of Tango.

DSC_0255-5

Kiran Sawhney says, “I view Argentine Tango as a physical expression of the pain, the passion, and the life. It is a non-verbal language, to express oneself in new ways. It is a wonder drug that makes you younger, sexier, more philosophical, and more of who you really are. It is a way of life.”

I have two left feet and though I would love to explore all forms of dancing, it doesn’t come naturally to me but at the event I did try a few basic moves with Eudardo and enjoyed it a lot. It was great fun and I look forward to being part of more Milongas in time to come.

DSC_0223-3

If you are looking at learning the moves of Tango, Delhi Milonga is the place for you. It will be going on for quite sometime at the Eros Hotel and you can find more details here at Delhi Milonga and NDTS for the upcoming events and classes.

I wish Kiran and Eduardo all the very best for their future endeavours.

If the heat has caught up with you already, then let me tell you, winter is coming, albeit in a glass longer than the span of actual winter in this city. If you’re one who always pays your debts, the Lion’s Tail is definitely going to fall short if you’ve not already had a couple. This tumultuous concoction with a hint of Elder Flower tonic spells out fierce.

Social - Lion's Tail - The Long Drink Festival 2016-2

As for the rebellious, Ours Is the Fury and so is a tall glass of aggression with a twist of Orange juice. I personally loved it, it was a real smooth drink with none of the tastes overpowering.

High Garden is definitely for those who love freshness in their drinks.

If those spoilers weren’t enough to pique your interest, I don’t know what else could be. Oh wait! hold the door for a little game of Ice & Fire; it’s fair to say that one would know what tune you’d be humming once you’re done with your taste buds battling between the docility of Lavender and boldness of Jalapeno.

IMG_2843

IMG_2846

Next up is The White Walker – embrace the chill when you hear the name for there’s more to this drink than the naked eye can see. Valar Morghulis- this one is as fatal as it sounds, but I guess it goes without saying; all men must drink!

In times, when we all are running after a healthy lifestyle and striving hard to achieve it with healthy food especially, a healthy chocolate sounds like a relief for many. Courtesy Yoga Bars, now you can satiate your hunger for a chocolate by going guilt free and indulging in the Chocolate Chunk Bar from Yoga Bars. Take one bite into it, and you may feel that no it is not a chocolate, but trust me a couple of bites more and you will feel it. Healthy things are rumoured to be not so good in taste, but with Yoga Bars its different. I tried four of their flavours and loved each one of them, my favourite being the Cashew Orange Zest. The Vanilla Almond had a very peculiar taste of spices which I found a little over powering, but still it was a good deal. Chocolate Chunk Nut and Nut Seeds Crunch were good too.

Tic Tac Toe- an age old game made much more fun from Surprise Someone

I love giving gifts to my family and friends, and when they are given without any specific reason, its much more fun. Me and my son often play a lot of games at home and one of our favourite game is Tic Tac Toe. Recently I bought a surprise box from Surprise Someone and since then I have been hooked to this portal. Just surfing through their products I found this game of tic tac toe on their site and almost instantly I thought of getting it for my son to surprise him.

IMG_2898

IMG_2900 IMG_2902

One one fine day, while he was getting bored and asking me to play something, I like a genie popped this game in front of him. To say that he was so pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. He just loved it. And truly, the game is so addictive and the biggest benefit of buying this game from surprisesomeone.in has been the fact, that we no longer need a paper and a pen and drawing the grid time and again. Its so simple to use, comes with a grid board and tokens of cross and knots, one just needs to keep placing them and then tag it with I am the Winner sign, and Pick Up the Tokens, Play, Repeat, as simple as that.
