Because of this, more and more people are having to take a step back to recollect themselves, which is quite a healthy thing to do, when you actually know how to.

 

Self-care can be done in many different ways, and it’s something everyone has their own opinions on. But sometimes we can forget what activities are truly relaxing, or we can forget how much time we should truly dedicate to taking care of ourselves. And honestly? We could all do with a reintroduction on what we should do for ourselves! So here’s a couple of ideas to hopefully inspire you.

A lot of people hear the term ‘mindfulness’ and immediately turn up their nose; it’s something quite a few don’t put stock in or don’t let themselves properly try or enjoy, and as a result, they can miss out on a lot of benefits. So if you’re trying to give yourself a break from very serious things like negotiating with debt collectors or dealing with the loss of a beloved pet, be sure to let yourself breathe and feel in the moment.

 

It really can knock the stress and tension of life away, and let you feel like nothing exists outside of this little bubble you’ve created for yourself. And although this is easier said than done, being happy as you are doesn’t have to be a pipe dream. In fact, it doesn’t even have to be out of reach. You just need to know how to make it happen. Whether you’ve always felt self-conscious, or you’ve recently been through a rough patch, and you’re looking to move forward in a positive manner, each of these seven points should help you. Get Some Sleep

Another thing you should aim to do is to get enough sleep. Because when you’re not sleeping well, it will affect your frame of mind. However, when you’re able to sleep well, and get enough high quality of sleep at that, you should find that you can take on a more positive mindset so much more easily. And you should have more energy too – which will always make you feel good.

Don’t’ Make Comparisons

It’s so easy to compare yourself to others. But this isn’t always great for your self-esteem. Instead of making comparisons with celebrities or your friends, you need to feel good in yourself. So stop putting yourself down. Focus on the things you do like about yourself, and work on the things you don’t. Because comparisons don’t make changes, actions do!

Eat Well

Finally, you might also want to think about trying to eat a little better too. Again, this isn’t always something you feel like doing when you’re down. Your body.

Your body is probably your worst enemy, as it is for most women. Our heads are filled with so many conflicting ideas as to what constitutes the perfect body. Some people say we should be as skinny as a rake, but other people say we should have voluptuous curves. It’s an absolute headache, and it’s all rubbish.

You don’t “have to” look any particular way when it comes to your body other than the way you want to look. In fact, to be more exact, you should look the way that makes you feel comfortable. Don’t starve yourself, and don’t over-eat. A healthy body should be your priority because there is no ideal size. If you eat a consistent diet and keep active on a daily basis then you’re doing everything right.

Your face.

Another aspect of your appearance that you want to keep healthy in a practical sense as well as in terms of its appearance on the surface is your face. Frequent moisturizing is crucial to avoid dry, cracked skin, and a clean face is absolutely essential when it comes to avoiding acne and other blemishes. There’s nothing wrong with a little make-up, of course, but try not to let your face become too oily during the day.

Mental health also affects appearance, so through practicing positive thoughts about your appearance you’ll reduce your stress and, in turn, your acne; it’s a positive cycle. You should also be looking after your dental health; your teeth shouldn’t just look white but actually be healthy. Look after your gums, in particular, by flossing and ensure that you brush your teeth two or perhaps even three times a day.

Your fashion.

Ah, fashion. It’s a love-hate relationship. We love pretty clothes, but we hate it when they don’t fit us or we think they don’t look quite right on us. If you’re lacking in confidence with regards to the fashion department then you could go on a shopping spree with your pals so as to have a team of advisors on what looks good or bad. You could also browse through online sites offering sleek and modern dresses for women because you might be selling yourself a bit short with your current wardrobe.

Again, don’t put yourself down; a good fashion sense isn’t some elusive concept that you can’t quite grasp. What’s most likely is that you never had the confidence to wear the pretty dresses or outfits you saw in shops or on other people; you need to rid yourself of these doubts and take a risk. Selfienomics as the name suggests is about the economics of oneself. The book in a very light humorous way tackles the very serious issue of ignored Self Improvement.

The book is full of humorous lines trying to teach you many serious aspects of your personal life.

Sample this for an example :To quit smoking is the easiest thing in the world.I have done it a 1000 times.

The author has made the process of self improvement which one tends to find boring in umpteen other books in the category look like a very simple fun filled journey. Its seldom we want to read books on self improvement, one because we all think we are perfect as it is, second those books sound too preaching types which end up being boring to the core, but trust me this one is different. It doesn’t preach you, it rather makes you familiar with the aspects of life that we don’t bother enough about but again in a lighter way. Because of humour being the front end of the book, it doesn’t loose its momentum till the very end.


The book really really has a sensible, practical and as I keep mentioning , a hilarious outlook on how to make money, get the most out of your job, broaden your network as also enjoy your family and give back to the society and really enjoy doing so.

Mystical Mondays- Shine with Self Love, by Manoj Lekhi

“ I love myself and I will do whatever I like”. “”I love myself, whatever I do, I like.” 


There is a huge difference between the two sentences. 


First statement says that happiness comes only after you do what you like to do while the second statement explains that we are already happy and express our happiness in whatever we do. The first one falls under an impression where one’s love is dependent on outside factors and external situations while the latter expresses

Self-Love. Love yourself, don’t wait for outward happenings to feel loved.

The Majority of people, almost 99% fall under the section where they seek love through various elements in and around their surroundings. Likewise, I feel happy when I have a Coca Cola. If I get a new job or hike in my salary or a new car or bike, then I get a feeling of happiness, then I see love in my life. This way happiness is dependent on an outward situation and is always seen after an event occurs.

This happiness is not self-love this can be called as self-pleasure which we call Happiness.

This further brings us to what is that fine line between Self-Love and self pleasure? 


We often are mistaken comparing love and pleasure being on the same pitch.

Nothing is wrong with pleasure, in fact, our pleasure enhances when we are joyful, its like icing on the cake. Pleasure is achieved from outside, whereas love is derived from within. There are two phases for this, one where we go after something for fulfillment versus we are already fulfilled and expressing ourselves through that thing.

Lets say, I love a sweet; when I have that sweet I am happy, versus I am happy with or without a sweet, and if I happen to have one, it’s like cherry on the cake.

There is no harm in experiencing  happiness through different situations or elements, but then that’s temporary. It is when you have happiness from within and the love of self , that is genuine happiness and that stays permanent and forever.

One is going upstream while one is going with the stream, one is flowing against the river, one is flowing with the river. When you are already joyful, you express it through different mediums, be it dance, be it music, sports, studies or cooking. What matters is being joyful!


How to be In Self-Love and in genuine happiness ” no matter, what happens” ?


This is the science of inward journey, science of Meditation which we teach in our SSY program (SSY- SCIENCE OF SILENCE YOGA). When you start living joyfully without a reason you start expressing it through your daily behavior. The action which flows out is the beautiful example that is set in your life.
